Stress Free ACT Boot Camp

The GEC Stress Free ACT Boot Camp is designed to help your student gain:

• 3-5 points on their ACT composite score,
• An expert-designed strategy for preparing for their next ACT,
• Better understanding of the ACT structure and scoring, and
• Increased confidence in their ACT test-taking abilities

Course Description:

The Fall Stress Free ACT Boot Camp is designed for juniors who want to get an early start on ACT prep, as well as seniors who are looking to boost their scores. This boot camp includes five in-person classes, 11 hours of instruction time, one proctored online-based ACT, and access to online ACT prep materials, even after the course concludes.

That means that they will be able to continually use our prep program for any additional ACT test sittings they may have, even after in-person course instruction concludes.

This course is only available to students at Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School, and individuals who are 14 years of age or older.  Registration can only be completed by a parent/guardian of the students who will be enrolled in the course(s).

Known simply as Dr. Thom to his clients and friends, he spent more than 25 years in selective admissions at some of the top universities in the world, leading recruitment and admissions selection at Purdue and Vanderbilt Universities.

To say that Dr. Thom has studied the college search is a massive understatement; his dissertation for his Doctorate in Educational Psychology explored how to help young people deal with the stress of applying to college.

Passionate about student development and leading with a growth mindset, he founded Golden Educational Consulting in 2015 with a focus on the student, not the college. Since then, he has helped hundreds of students find the college that is a perfect fit for THEM.

Dr. Thom holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville, a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs from The Ohio State University, and a doctorate in educational psychology from Purdue University.  He and his wife Bridget are the proud parents of three sons.
