The Places They’ll Go: To the Graduating GEC Class of 2023

“I bet you all get invited to A LOT of graduation parties.”

We do in fact, and we try to make it to as many of them as we can and we love them. There is such excitement and anticipation at a graduation party. I have written before about how much of a sucker I am for the symbolism of graduations.

We join our GEC families as they celebrate their sons and daughters on graduation day. This year’s graduating seniors were simply amazing - full of bright thinkers, committed activists, and talented musicians, artists, and athletes.

The 2023 graduating GEC class:

  • Will be enrolling in 29 different colleges and universities,

  • Are excited to be attending the colleges they have chosen; 83% of this year’s GEC senior class will be enrolling at their top choice college,

  • Features a NCAA Division I swimmer, a pilgrim who completed the 500 hike of the Camino de Santiago, a youth healthcare activist who successfully lobbied the U.S. Congress on behalf of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a young man who overcame the most dire of health challenges to realize his dream of attending college, among many other standouts.

Congratulations to the 2023 graduating GEC class, and to all high school seniors making that walk across the stage to receive your diplomas. The world stands ready to be inspired by your gifts and we will forever be in our corner, cheering you on.
